Funeral services were held Friday, March 14 at the Bethlehem Evangelical Free Church, Cooperstown, for Mr. Thomas Boe, 92, with Rev. Keith McNeil officiating. Mr. Boe died March 12 at the Griggs County Nursing Home, where he had resided.
Thomas Boe was born in Sverdrup Township, Griggs County, February 1, 1888. He attended school and grew to manhood there.
He started to work on farms and married Edith W. Anderson November 4, 1914. They farmed near Cooperstown until they retired in 1955 and moved into Cooperstown. Mrs. Boe died November 27, 1974.
Mr. Boe was on the board of directors for the Farmers Elevator and Farmers Oil, Chairman of the ASC board for several years and held offices in his church.
He leaves two sons, Al of Cooperstown and Edsel of Dickinson; a daughter, Mrs. Carl (Arla Mae) Schilbred of Cooperstown; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Alfred Boe of Hillsboro.
Mr. Boe was preceded in death by his wife, two daughters, Esther in infancy and Audrey in 1976, and three brothers.
