Daniel Mattingly, 60, was flown to University Hospital in Louisville after he was involved in a one-vejicle car accident Monday afternoon Nov. 11.

The accident occurred at 1 p.m, on KY 49 one mile south (actually north) of Loretto , according to Kentucky State Police.

The police report states that Mattingly was driving a 1992 Chevy north when he lost control, ran off the shoulder of the road and struck a culvert. He was not wearing his seat belt, police said.

Mattingly was flown to University Hospital in Louisville. His condition is unknown at this time.



Joseph Daniel "Skeeter" Mattingly, age 60 of Loretto, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at University of Louisville Hospital.

He was born June 30, 1953 in Marion County. He worked as an Auto Body Repairman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Richard and Mary Pauline "Polly" Powell Mattingly.

Survivors include one sister, Lois Ann Washburn of Loretto, one brother, J. R. Mattingly, Jr. of Loretto, two nephews and a special friend, Ramona Carter of Loretto.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, Saint Francis, with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. R. Joseph Hemmerle will be the celebrant.

Visitation is 2-8 PM Friday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 5 PM.
