Lois Ann Washburn, age 61 of Loretto, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014 at her residence. She was born July 15, 1952 in Nelson County. She was a former homemaker and a Catholic by faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Washburn, her parents, John Richard and Pauline "Polly" Powell Mattingly and one brother, Joseph Daniel "Skeeter" Mattingly. Survivors include two sons, Billy Washburn (Jenny) of Loretto and Wayne Washburn (Malena) of Springfield, five step-grandchildren and one brother, J.R. Mattingly of Loretto.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 6785 Highway 52, Saint Francis, with interment to follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, 3909 Valley Hill Road in Springfield. Visitation will be 3-8 PM Monday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto. Memorial contributions may go toward burial expenses.
