Carol Arrington Lewis, age 79, of Fairmont, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at McLeod Medical Center in Dillon, SC. She was born in Granville County, NC on May 14, 1931 to the late Crawford and Josephine Wheeler Arrington.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Ashley Lewis; her brothers and sisters, Wilhelmena Arrington Lee, Harriet Arrington Shooter, Edward Dudley Arrington and by a daughter, June Carol Lewis.
Mrs. Lewis is survived by four sons, Chip Lewis and wife, Beth of Fairmont, NC, Mike Lewis and wife, Claudia of Fairmont, NC, Tim Lewis and wife, Sharon of Greensboro, NC and Chris Lewis and wife, Charlotte of Greensboro, NC. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Garland Arrington and wife, Faye of Red Springs, NC, Hubert Arrington and wife, Evelyn of Maxton, NC, Polly Lee and husband, Frank of Hamer, SC, William Arrington and wife, Guynelle of Dillon, SC, Sally Shooter and husband, Marvin of Rowland, NC, and Peggy Carmichael of Dillon, SC; a sister-in-law, Miriam McLellan; twelve grandchildren, Ashley Simmons and husband, William, Brian, Arrin, Caroline, Jessica, Tyler, Dustin, Leah, Haley, Charles Gilbert, Chandler and Christann Lewis and two great-grandchildren, Marley Johnson and Gabby Ivey.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 31, 2011 at 11:00AM at First Baptist Church in Fairmont with Rev. Jesse Yarbrough officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis Cemetery on Leggett Road, Fairmont.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 30, 2011 from 7:00-9:00PM at Floyd Funeral Services, Inc., 1549 Marion Stage Road, Fairmont.
