Raised on farm until 19; learned hotel business at the Evart house, Evart, Mich.; removed to Detroit, 1895, and became proprietor of the Griswold House; associated with Austin E. Morey, 1898, the firm owning the Griswold and the Oriental Hotels. Director Detroit Creamery Co., ion Fence Co., of Adrian, Mich., and Evart Savings Bank, Evart, Mich. President Michigan State Agricultural Society since 1904; member Poor Commission, City of Detroit, for six years, Board of Commerce. Republican Mason; member B.P.O.E.
