POUGHKEEPSIE Daniel (Danny) Hopler, 61, a resident of Poughkeepsie, died peacefully at home, Thursday, Aug. 18, 2005. He was the son of the late Francis and Helen Hopler of Newark, N.J. After graduating from school, Danny spent the next two years as a respiratory care practitioner in the United States Army at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, during the Vietnam War. He then went onto practice respiratory therapy throughout the county spending the last 18 years at various hospitals in Dutchess and Ulster counties retiring from St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie in 1991. Danny loved to fish and was an avid horse racing enthusiast. He was a mild mannered man but everyone will remember Danny for his jokes and ability to make people laugh. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his three sons, Daniel, James and Michael of Florida; brothers, Francis and Vincent Hopler of Florida; his sister, Elaine Sheehan of Florida; their loving families; his devoted companion of 14 years, Elaine Henderson; and many dear friends. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held 1p.m., Monday, at New Paltz Rural Cemetery, followed by a 3 p.m. Memorial Mass at St. Francis Chapel, St. Francis Hospital, Poughkeepsie. A gathering of Danny's friends will immediately follow at the clubhouse at the Gables, Salt Point Turnpike, Poughkeepsie. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or Dutchess Dialysis Center of Poughkeepsie. Arrangements under the direction of William G.
