Coleen Donald Jennings, 50, of Bemidji, MN, passed away unexpectedly at her home, Saturday, January 30, 2010.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji, MN with Rev. Dan Heath officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7pm on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji, MN and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday. Respecting Coleen's wishes there will be no burial.
Honorary pallbearers are Bill Tibbetts, Sr., Don Kingbird, Steve Plumer, Chris Mayo, BJ Copenace, Byron Ninham, Ranae Womack, Stephanie Hendricks, Vince Beyl, Carol and Vicki White and Bill Moe.
Coleen was born to Gary and Joanne (Boness) Donald on November 25, 1959, in Cook, MN. She lived her younger years on the Bois Forte Reservation attending Nett Lake Elementary and graduating from Orr High School in 1978. She continued her education and graduated from Bemidji Vo-tech and made Bemidji her home. Shortly after she began her career with the State of Minnesota in the Department of Jobs and Trainings. She transferred employment to Bemidji State University in 1983.
Her biggest joy in life were her children. She valued and treasured family and friends. She enjoyed harvesting wild rice and blueberries; setting nets; hunting; dining out with friends; cooking; attending pow wows to listen to her son sing on the drum and to watch her nieces dance; and was a connoisseur of fine wines.
She is survived by her daughter, Emma Lee and son, Gary Wayne; Parents Gary and Joanne Donald of Tower; sisters Gayle (Jim) Littlewolf of Bemidji; Leigh Ann (Scott) Syversrud of Tower; Carolyn Donald of Tower and numerous uncles; aunts; nieces; and cousins.
