PINKERTON, Eleanor W. age 92, of Tampa, passed away on Friday, Nov. 22, 2013 at Brighton Gardens, Tampa. She was born on Sept. 14, 1921 in Roxboro, NC to her parents, Robert Wilbourne and Ila Dillard. Eleanor was the oldest of six children. She married Cecil Pinkerton in Washington, DC in January of 1947. They had two children. She attended Mary Washington College and graduated in 1937 with a bachelor's in business. She retired from the Environmental Protection Agency where she worked as a contract specialist. Eleanor was a member of First Baptist Church of Temple Terrace. She was an avid reader who enjoyed traveling, visiting foreign countries and spending time with family. Eleanor will be remembered by her loving children, Cecilia Yocum (Thomas Maciocha) of Tampa and Amy Rose of Pacifica, CA. She is also survived by granddaughter, Aurora Yocum and great-granddaughter, Jocelynn Benton. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Cecil, four sisters, one brother and son-in-law, Harvey Rose. The family will receive friends from 6-8:30 pm, Monday, Nov. 25, 2013 at Blount & Curry, Terrace Oaks Chapel, 12690 N. 56th Street, Temple Terrace, where a memorial service will also be held at 11 am on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
