A Royal Academician, Stothard was a friend of William Blake and fellow painter/engraver. He contributed nearly 150 designs to Novelist's Magazine, as well as all manner of work from portraits to concert tickets. His paintings 'Vintage' and 'Procession Of The Canterbury Pilgrims' can be seen in the National Gallery.
