ROCK HILL - Mrs. Elsie Inez Blue George, 99, of 642 S. Garrison Road, passed away Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House.

Mrs. George was born in Rock Hill, S.C., and was the daughter of the late Chief Samuel Taylor Blue and the late Louisa Hester Canty Blue.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints-Catawba 1st Ward, where she loved to sing in the choir. She loved to sew and was the former Miss Catawba Senior.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Landrum George; and her seven brothers and three sisters, being the last sibling of her family.

Services for Mrs. George will be 12 noon, Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints-Catawba 1st Ward, 1989 Reservation Road, with Bishop Bob Trimnal presiding. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. George is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, and other times at the home of Chief Gilbert Blue, 1480 Hopewell Road.

The family request that memorials may be made to Hospice & Community Care, P.O. Box 993, Rock Hill, SC 29731.
