Alma Tunstall Collins of Arlington, VA, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 25, 2013, at the age of 95 at Virginia Hospital Center.

Alma was born on October 17, 1918, in Apex, NC, to the late Robert and Eura Tunstall.

Beloved mother of Carolyn Hill (Peter) and Elizabeth T. Collins of Arlington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward C. Collins and a son, Edward C. Collins, Jr. She is also survived by a sister, Gladys Donnelly of Apex, NC and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Alma worked as an administrative assistant for the then Department of Health Education and Welfare, before leaving to raise her family. She was a fifty plus year member of Bon Air Baptist Church, where she taught an adult Sunday school class for many years. Alma enjoyed her family, music and travel. She accompanied her husband on a number of overseas trips.

A visitation will be held on Monday, December 2, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Blvd, Arlington, VA. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Columbia Gardens Cemetery, 3411 Arlington Blvd, Arlington, VA.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Bon Air Baptist Church, 800 N. Illinois Street, Arlington, VA 22205.
