Livingston Cross and his nine year old niece (Clarabell Cross) drowned on Monday evening while crossing the Allegheny River at Althom. They were riding on a load of hay when the load shifted and the little girl fell into the water. Livingston jumped in after her and they both drowned. The girl was a daughter of James Cross. Livingston was the third brother of the Cross family to lose his life in the past two years. About two years ago John Cross was killed by a train, and about six months ago Norman Cross was killed by a dynamite blast.
