Funeral services was Friday, October 9, 1981, at 11:00 a.m. at the Sumner Voiles Funeral Home Chapel, with the Reverend James D. Lewis of Sumner United Methodist Church officiating. Music for the services were by organist, Irene Thompson, and soloist, Dollie Myers.
Burial was in the Mountain View Cemetery , Tacoma, Washington.

She was born a daughter of Tony and Maria Zevenbergen in Pernis, Holland on February 5, 1914. Her birth name was Jaapje Zevenbergen. Arriving from Pernis, Holland at the age of 6. They came to the United States through Ellis Island on the ship, Rotterdam, July 12, 1920. She along with her parents, five brothers and one sister made this long trip. She was given the American name of Jennie.
Jennie, and her husband Elmer Poehler moved from Wheeler, Illinois to Sumner, Washington in 1970. She had owned Jennie's Kitchen in Newton, Illinois, before her move to Washington. After arriving in Sumner she opened another restaurant, and it was also called Jennie's Kitchen.
She was a member of of the Sumner United Methodist Church.
Besides her husband, Elmer, other survivors include four sons, Wayne Wheatley of Salida, Colorado, Virgil Wheatley of Kent, Washington, Bruce Wheatley of Elsworth, Wisconsin, and Jay Dee Stroud of Newton, Illinois; two sisters Ann Hollis of Wasella, Alaska,,and Sue Ren of Everett, Washington; three brothers Marion Zevenbergen of Seattle, Leonard Zevenbergen of Tacoma and Tony Zevenbergen of Woodland, Cowlitz County; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, John, Neal and Peter Zevenbergen all of Washington.
