Bruce Adamson, 93, of Harrisburg, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002.

Services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, at Gaskins Funeral Home in Harrisburg with the Rev. Don Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2002, at the funeral home.

He was born April 23, 1909, in Whitburn, Scotland, to John and Jeannie (Aitken) Adamson. On June 3, 1967, he married the former Marylu Perschbacher, who survives.

He was a Presbyterian by faith. He was a logistics manager (civil service for the U.S. Army retired) president and general manager of Standard Electric Corp. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a member of the armed forces that landed at Utah Beach during the D-Day invasion. He was past president of Kiwanis.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Bruce Reeves (Takako) Adamson of California; a sister, Margaret Deter of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; two nieces, Donna Rae Stokich of Harrisburg and Cathy Bienz of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; two nephews, John W. Deter of Leo, Ind., and Harold Bruce Deter of Grabill, Ind., and five cousins, Ella Aitken of Bathgate, Scotland, David Henderson of Whitburn, Scotland, Walter and Ton Mackie of Michigan, Mollie Mackie of Florida and Nancy Overcashier of Michigan.

He was preceded in death by a brother, William Adamson.
