Gale married Mary Woolslayer, and they became the parents of a son and two daughters.
During his working years, Gale worked at the Westmoreland County Blind Association in Greensburg, from which he retired.
He was a member of Word of Life Ministries, Greensburg.
At the age of 81, L. Gale Cummings, of Greensburg, died on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013.
He was predeceased by his parents.
He was survived by his wife, Mary Woolslayer Cummings; a son, Paul Cummings, of Harrison City; two daughters, Arlene Cummings and Barbara Cummings, of Pitcairn; five stepchildren, Daniel Bochicchio, of Phoenix, Ariz., Sylvia Davis, of Export, Nicholas Bochicchio, of Trafford, Rose Cardiff, of Level Green, and Kathryn Keller, of Wilkins Township; two grandsons, Jacob and Michael Cummings; two brothers, Jack Cummings, of Weirton, W. Va., and Howard Cummings, of Pitcairn; a sister, Gladys Shaw, of Pitcairn; and a number of step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
