Alzada was born in Columbia County, New York to Major and Hannah (Brown) Tyler. There on 23 October 1815 she married Elijah Huson. The couple moved to Yates County, New York, by 1816. She was the mother of eight children, Nelson, Judson M., Richard, Elijah Lafayett, George T., Louisa, Burgess, and Samantha. All her children were born in New York, probably in Yates County. Exactly when she and Elijah migrated to Lake County is not known, but they were there by 1846, along with all the children except Nelson, who had died in the mid-1830's.
Alzada outlived her husband. She died at the home of one of her sons, probably Elijah's. She was 79 years 4 months of age. Her funeral was held on Sunday, December 26, 1875, at the Disciple Church, Fort Hill. Elder Gilbert officiated.
Her headstone is no longer extant, but a 1962 cemetery reading and another in 1981 gives her date of death as 17 December 1875. A death notice published in the "Waukegan Gazette" confirms the date.
