The Perry County Democrat (Bloomfield, PA), 15 Sep 1926 (Wed), page 3
Andrew Minick, a much-respected resident of Newport, died very suddenly of heart failure on Saturday morning, while on the way from the railroad station in Newport to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mary N. Troup. He had been to Harrisburg, visiting his daughter, Mrs. John Chrismer, and got off the train and started to walk to the home of Mrs. Troup. On the way Nelson Gable overtook him and invited him to ride on his wagon which he accepted. He had ridden only a short distance when he fell dead in Mr. Gable's arms. Dr. Carl was summoned and pronounced death due to heart failure.
Mr. Minick was born at Loysville, Oct. 20, 1842, and was aged at death 83 years, 11 months and 9 days. He was a son of Daniel and Mary Minick and was the last of nine children. Bornman, Duncannon; Mary, wife of the late D. P. Troup, of Newport, and Katie, Mrs. J. K. Chrismer, Harrisburg.
