Mary Talcott and Richard Edwards had the following six children, all born of record at Hartford, Conn. where they were bapt. of record either at the Harford 1st or 2nd Church:
• i. Jonathan Edwards, b. Jan. 20 (bp. Feb. 20 [1st Ch]), 1692/3, d. in infancy Mar. 21, 1692/3.
• ii. Dea. John Edwards, b. Feb. 27 (bp. Mar. 11 [1st Ch]), 1694/5, d. May 16, 1769 at Hartford, Æ 75; m. at Hartford Dec. 24, 1719, Christian Coffin, widow of Timothy Williamson and dau. of Nathaniel Coffin and Damaris Gayer. She was b. Apr. 8, 1695 at Nantucket, Mass. and d. at Hartford Jan. 18, 1769, Æ 74. Seven children of the family. John was a Deacon of the Hartford 1st church.
• iii. Hannah Edwards, b. Jan. 3 (bp. Jan. 5 [1st Ch]), 1695/6, d. Oct. 17, 1747 at Hartford, Conn., Æ 52; m. Mar. 1, 1721/2 at Norwich, Conn., Joseph Backus, Jr., s. of Joseph Backus and Elizabeth Huntington, b. at Norwich in Mar. 1690/1. An attorney and graduate of Yale (1718), he d. at Norwich 1762. Five known children of the family.
• iv. Richard Edwards, b. June 5, 1698, d. in adolescence May 20, 1713.
• v. Hon. Daniel Edwards, b. Apr. 11 (bp. Apr. 15 [1st Ch]), 1701, d. testate Sept. 6, 1765 at New Haven, Conn., Æ 65; m. in Mar. 1727/8, Sarah Hooker, dau. of Nathaniel Hooker and Mary Stanley, and gr. granddau. of Rev. Thomas Hooker, the religious founder of Hartford, Conn., b. Nov. 7 (bp. Nov. 12 [1st Ch], 1704. She d. July 31, 1775 at Hartford. Daniel was a graduate of Yale (1720) in the same class as his half-nephew, Rev. Jonathan Edwards of Northampton, Mass. Daniel was a Judge of the Hartford County Superior Court (1754-1765) and Judge of the Hartford Probate District (1761-1765). Daniel and wife Sarah are said to have had multiple children during the first 11 years of marriage, all who died in infancy, before the circa 1739 known birth of dau. Sarah and 1745 birth of son Daniel. Daniel Edwards's wife, Sarah Hooker, was the 1st cousin of Sarah Pierpont, sole wife of Daniel's half-nephew, Rev. Jonathan Edwards.
• vi. Samuel Edwards, b. Nov. 1 (bp. Nov. 1 [2nd Ch]), 1702, d. testate Nov. 4, 1732 at Hartford, Conn., Æ 31; m. by 1732 Jerusha Pitkin, dau. of William Pitkin and Elizabeth Stanley. One child of the family, dau. Jerusha (Edwards) Welles. The widow Jerusha m. 2) Nov. 17, 1737 at Glastonbury, Conn., Rev. Ashbel Woodbridge, by whom she had nine children and d. July 31, 1799 at Glastonbury.
