Harold Vander Plaats, 34 of Hospers died Monday morning, July 31, at the Sheldon hosipital following a long illness.
Mr. Vander Plaats was born June , 6 1927 at Sibley. He attended and graduated from the Sheldon Christian school.
His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arie Vander Plaats and a brother Wilton were killed in an auto accident in 1939 several miles south of Sheldon.
Following this tragedy the rest of the family made their home on a farm with Mr. and Mrs. Henry De Boer. Survivors included Mr. De Boer, a sister, Mrs. Myrna Elbers of Alvord, John of Sheldon and Gerrit of Hospers.
Funeral services were held Wednesday aftenoon at 1:30 in the Christian Reformed church of Hospers with Rev. C. R. Veenstra officiating and burial in the West Cemetery.
