He was born May 14, 1963 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Connie and Sandra Franks.

Background:
Craig had moved back to the Sudan community from Albuquerque, New Mexico in 2006. He graduated from Sudan High School, and then attended a carpentry school in Lubbock. Craig worked on the original construction of the Tolk Station for Missouri Valley in Lamb County. He had been the maintenance coordinator for Furr's for seventeen years in Texas and New Mexico, and the maintenance coordinator for Cottonwood Mall and Properties in Albuquerque, New Mexico for three years. He worked the last four years farming for Terry Evans & Sons in Fieldton, Texas. He was a member of the Sudan Church of Christ.

Survivors:
His parents, Connie and Sandra Franks; sister, Holly Crews of Littlefield, Texas; and brother, Brad Franks of Lubbock, Texas.
