Town of Colby Resident, 59, Dies Tuesday Evening at Home

Colby-Oscar Frederick Herrmann, 59, died of a complication of ailments at 6:30 o'clock Tuesday evening at his home in the Town of Colby. He had been at Rogers Memorial Sanatorium, Oconomowoc, and Memorial Hospital, Wausau, the past year.
Mr. Herrmann was born April 26, 1833, in the Town of Colby and was married to Bertha Ebert Dec. 18, 1918, at Colby. Since his marriage he had been a Colby resident.
Serving besides his widow are five children, Kenneth, Milwaukee; Edward and Clinton, at home; Mrs. Royal (Irene) Awe, Colby; and Mrs. Arnold (Ruth) Ruprich, Dorchester. Two sisters, Mrs. Edwin Zillman, Colby; and Mrs. Charles Schmidt, Milan; also survive. A daughter died in infancy.
His grandson is Robert Ruprich. His parents and two brothers, William and Alfred, are dead.
Funeral rites will be held at the First Evangelical Reformed Church in Colby Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev. Robert Leonhardt officiating. He was a member of that church all his life and was a member of the church council several years. He was supervisor of the Town of Colby and was a member of the Town Board, also a treasurer of the School Board 18 years, and secretary of the Colby Co-op cheese factory 19 years.
At the time of his death he was a director of the Harmony Co-op and a director of the Home Mutual Insurance Company.

Funeral services for Oscar F. Herrmann, 59, who died June 3 at his home in the town of Colby, Clark county, were held Saturday afternoon at the First Evangelical and Reformed church in Colby, with the Rev. Robert Leonhardt officiating. Pallbearers were Peter and Frank Belerl, Edward Stock, Otto Dins, Claude Whitney and Alvin Brehm. In Charge of floral offerings were Miss Evelyn Herrmann, Miss Lois Ebert, Mrs.Gaylord Pipkorn, Mrs. Alphones Herrmann, Mrs. Donald Zillman, Mrs. Vernon Schmidt, Mrs. Adolph Wessel and Mrs. Harold Horn. Interment was in the Colby cemetery.
Among relatives attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schmidt and son, Alfred, Milan; Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Schmidt and son James, Eugene Hermann and Kenneth Herrmann, Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Alphones Herrmann, Curtiss, William Hecker and Mrs. Tillie Goodale, Plymouth; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Zillman, and children, Mrs. Amelia Gary, Miss Evelyn Herrmann, Eau Claire, Herrmann Zillman, Baldwin; Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Blair, Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Ruprich and son, Robert, Dorchester; Alvin Ruprich, Wausau; Mr. and Mrs.Walter Ebert and daughters, Loyal, Mrs. Ida Horn and son, Glenn, Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Wessel and son, Everett, and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Horn, Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Ebert and Mrs. Ida Fisher and son, Robert, Dover, Minn., and Mr. and Mrs. Ole Anderson, Rochester, Minn.
