Martha Elizabeth Garrett, age 80, of Rainsville, Ala., passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013 at the hospital in Fort Payne, AL.
Mrs. Garrett was born April 27, 1933 in Cedartown,GA. and was a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church in Fort Payne, Ala. She was preceded in death by her 1st husband and father of 9 children Robert Brewer Jr. and 2nd husband and father of 8 children Richard D. Garret. Also proceeding her in death were her parents; Alex Lanning and Lillian Timms Lanning Cason, along with 2 brothers Oscar and Howard Lanning. 3 sisters Linda Burton, Betty Jo Brown, and Sarah Barker. 3 children Jimmy Lee, Randy and Vickie Brewer.
Survivors include 1 brother, Bud Lanning of Cedartown and 1 sister Ruby Lanning Brantley of Aragon, GA. Also surviving are 8 Sons: Jeff Brewer of GA., Terry Brewer of NY., William Earl Brewer of GA., Ricky Garrett AL., Bryan Garrett of Fort Payne, AL., Timmy Garrett of GA., Dan Garrett of GA., Davitt Garrett of GA. 5 Daughters: Judy Ann Gentry & Wanda Sides both of Rockmart, GA., Janet White of AL., Nancy Garrett of Collinsville, AL., and Becky Barnett of Fort Payne, AL. Also surviving are Numerous Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren & Great Great Grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Rainsville Funeral Home, Inc. Monday, December 16th 5pm-8pm Tuesday, December 17th from 10am-12noon
Interment will be at Bellview Cemetery in Rockmart, GA. Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at 3pm CST
