Mrs. Lillian Lucille Cason, age 89, of Cedartown, passed away Sunday, September 20, 1998. Mrs. Cason was born July 24, 1909 in Polk County. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Bud Lanning of Cedartown and Howard Lanning of Eton; five daughters, Betty Brown and Sara Barker both of Cedartown, Martha Garrett of Rainsville, Linda Burton of Big Stone Gap, Va. And Ruby Brantley of Monroe; two sisters, Ruth Winkels and Burnice Carter of Cedartown; 39 grandchildren; 75 great grandchildren and a number of great great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 23, with the Rev. Reginald Campbell and the Rev. Royce Campbell officiating. Interment followed in Northview Cemetery. Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Her first husband and father of her children was James Alexander Lanning (1888 - 1957), after Alex passed away she married H. Grady Cason (1897 - 1977) Grady had also lost his wife Lula Mae and he is buried beside her at Bellview in Rockmart. Lillian is buried beside her first husband Alex.

Lillian and Alex also have 3 grandbabies buried at the foot of their grave. The babies graves are unmarked they are Randy, Jimmy Lee and Vickie Brewer.
