Alma Hughes Starr passed away Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013. Funeral: will be in Rufe, Okla., her hometown. Interment: will take place in Rufe, Okla., where she will be laid to rest next to her grandson, Thad A. "Trae" Starr III. She was born Aug. 22, 1924. Beloved mother to Phyllis Anglin and Thad A. Starr Jr., Alma was very proud of the fact that she was a defense plant foreman in Tulsa, Okla., during World War II, a "Rosie the Riveter." She met her husband, Thad Starr Sr., while he was serving in the Marine Corps. The family wishes to thank Gail Chester for her love and support. Also, the family is very grateful to Lifecare Center of Haltom, where she received excellent care, and where she was known as "Mama Starr" to everyone. Survivors: Sister, Dail Provence; grandchildren, Jennifer Goldfield and Charla White; son-in-law, Fred Anglin; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Starr; grandsons-in-law, Brian Goldfield and Lance White; four great-grandchildren, Alton and Brennan Goldfield, Bella Starr and Amelia White; ande numerous nieces and nephews.
