Mae Peterson Cooper, 100, of Green Mountain, NC, passed away November 6, 2008.

A native of Mitchell County, NC, she was a homemaker and the daughter of the late Henry and Rittie Peterson.

She was a member of the Bailey Brethren Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rex Cooper, who passed away in 1976; daughter, Fannie Bennett; sister, Frances Byrd; brothers, Bernie Peterson and Biss Peterson; and grandson, Kelly Cooper.

Survivors include: daughters, Lennie House, Annie Briggs, and Julie Lewis, all of Green Mountain, NC, Christina Hughes of Travelers Rest, SC, and Rita Bryant of Houston,
TX; sons, Lloyd Cooper of Lexington, NC, Boyd and Danny Cooper, both of Green Mountain, NC; sister, Gustie Peterson of Green Mountain, NC; thirty grandchildren,
fifty-two great grandchildren, and eleven great-great grandchildren.

Interment was in the Peterson Cemetery located on Hwy 197N.
