There is a slight mix-up on his birth place due to the 1900 Census showing him immigrating to the USA in 1867 while it also shows him being born in July 1868. The 1910 Census shows him being naturalized in 1873.
His siblings were: Wellington, Urias, Thomas, Annie, Ada, William, Mary Belle and Isaac. Wellington, Urias and Thomas were all born in Canada. The rest, including James, were supposedly born in Missouri.
He lived in Missouri and Kansas (Mitchell County) before migrating to Oklahoma where he lived until his death.
He married Anna McKeeby (possibly) in Kansas or Missouri in about 1899 as they had been married for 11 years on the 1900 census and 20 years on the 1910 census.
They had at least three children. The oldest child was Earl M. Walton, born Nov 1895 in Missouri. A son, James H. Walton, was born and died (from a gun accident) between 1900 and 1910. Their last child was Roscoe Walton. Roscoe married Daisey Driskell. Roscoe and Daisey had five children together before they divorced.
