TEXAS CITY - Services for Ardis L. Smith, 77, of Texas City will be held at 2 p.m. today In the chapel of James Crowder Funeral Home In La Marque with the Rev. Jay Lewis Hill officiating.
Mr. Smith, a Texas City resident since 1948, died Monday at Danforth Memorial Hospital. A native of Arkansas, Mr. Smith was a member of Texas City Missionary Baptist Church and was a member of Ironworkers Local No. 135 In Texas City,
Born Oct. 10, 1903, he was a retired Ironworker.
He is survived by a brother, Fred Smith of Waxahachic, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Burial will be In Galveston Memorial Park In Hitchcock.
Pallbearers will be Bob Chllds, Autry Thompson, Leslie Hardcastle, Bill Price, Levl Treece and William Bradford. Honorary pallbearers will be Rik Sharer, Tim Sharer, David Billings, Rodney Billings, Charles Billings, Ernest Taylor, Freddy Smith, Bobby Powell and Ed Price.
Visitors may call at the funeral home after 8 a.m. today.
