Harvey Dwight Barnes was the son of Myron & Nancy Kling Barnes.

Per obituary from Daily Journal in International Falls, MN library, Harvey Barnes was born in 1911 in Minneapolis, MN.

The family moved to Birchdale in 1918. He worked in the coal mines in Illinois for 12 years and entered the U.S. Army in 1942. He served honorably overseas.

He moved to International Falls, MN and worked in the paper mill from 1945 to 1967. He married Lorraine Zoesch in International Falls in 1947.

He died in the University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. He was survived by his wife, two children, and three sisters. Funeral services were held in the Covenant Church in International Falls with burial in the Birchdale Cemetery.
