Sarah Gertrude JARVIS McKinley died Tuesday, June 24th, at the Jennie Edmundson Memorial Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa, at the age of 86 years and seven days.
She was born in Grove City, Cass County, Iowa June 17, 1866 to William C. Jarvis and Mary Catherine Morris. She spent many years as a resident of Corning and vicinity. The last several years she and her sister, Mrs. Fannie Cozad have lived together in Council Bluffs.
She was married at Quincy, Iowa, July 1886 to Frederick Thomas McKinley, deceased. To this union three children were born, two dying in infancy, Grace and Robert.
She is survived by one son, James, a granddaughter and daughter-in-law, Moline, Illinois; three sisters and one brother, Mrs. Jennie Busby, Missouri Valley, Mrs. Fannie Cozad, Council Bluffs, Mrs. Maude Boham, Carbon, Mr. C. F. Jarvis, Grant, and several nephews and nieces and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at the Boyd Roland Funeral Home on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. Frank Jacobs, conducting the services.
Music was rendered by Mrs. Clinton Cooper and Mrs. Warren Routh, accompanied by Mrs. John Chamy.
Pall bearers were Eldon Franklin, Charles Jarvis, Paul Cozad, Harry Jarvis, Russell Cozad, and Robert Cozad. Burial was in Quincy Cemetery.
Flower bearers were Beulah Millard, Grace Reynolds, Luella Brown, and Eveline Miller.
