Mr. Scott was one of the area's oldest residents, operated a farm in Scottsburg for many years. At the time he was manager of the creamery there which was one of the area's major industries.
He was a member of the Scottsburg Methodist Church and for several years served as secretary and treasurer of the congregation. For the past several years he had resided with his granddaughter and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Caldwell.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Smith of Scottsburg; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild; a niece, Miss Belle Kiehle of Minneapolis, Minn.
The funeral service was conducted in the Chamberlin Funeral Home in Dansville. Burial was in Scottsburg Cemetery. (Dansville Breeze, March 1, 1960, p6)
