AMORY - Christine Pickle Armstrong, 78, died Monday, April, 3, 200, at Gilmore Memorial Hospital in Amory after an extended illness. She was born Oct. 22, 1921, in Monroe County to Joe Woddie and Mamie Pickle who preceded her in death. A lifelong resident of Monroe County, she lived in the Trace road community for several years. she was a 1941 graduate of Smithville High School. She was preceded in death in 1984 by her husband, Granville S. Armstrong, whom she married on July 18, 1942, in Amory. She was a member of Main Street Free will Baptist church and she attended Faith Baptist Church.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Masonic Cemetery, Amory, with Bro. Lynn Sloan officiating. E.E. Pickle Funeral Home of Amory is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her son, Larry Granville Armstrong and wife, Joyce, of Amory; two daughters, Mable Ruth Hill and husband Jerry, of Walnut, and Sandra Kay Wardlaw of Amory; three sisters, Vera Morris of Hueytown, Ala., Lona Bryant of Bessemer, Ala., and Eula Mae Swindle of Tusaloosa, Ala.; six grandchildren, Sabrina Kemp, Robin Ragan, angela Nash, Stephen Armstrong, Maegan Wardlaw and Nick Wardlaw; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Armstrong, Nick Wardlaw, Chris Ragan, Keith Kemp,.

Visitaion will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
