Elsie Bartelt, Appleton, age 83, passed away at Brewster Village on Monday, December 15, 2008. She was born on August 11, 1925, in Sheboygan, to the late Charles and Sophia (Bellar) Eurich. Elsie married Don Bartelt, who later preceded her in death in 1987. Elsie loved her family dearly and was most important to her. She also spent many years volunteering with the Salvation Army and Appleton Emergency Shelter. Elsie was very spiritual. She enjoyed participating at many different churches throughout the years. Elsie was also very fond of bird watching and loved nature.
Elsie is lovingly survived by her sons: Steve (Donna) Bartelt, Almond; Gene (Vicki) Bartelt, Manawa; Tim Bartelt, Livermore, CA; Mike Bartelt, Manitowoc; Jeff Bartelt, Norfolk, VA; daughters: Donna McCormick, Appleton; Linda VanStraten, Greenville; Sue Stockton, Sturgeon Bay; fifteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Elsie was preceded in death by her son, Bob Bartelt.
A memorial service for Elsie will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2008, at 12 p.m. at the Westgor Funeral Home, 205 W. Doty Avenue, Neenah, with the Rev. John McFadden officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
Elsie's family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Dr. Christina Huckabay, Corey and the staff at Brewster Village for all their care and support of Elsie.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
