A.L. Hosner died Friday Evening
For 60 Years Was Well-Known Resident of Groveland
Alfred L. Hosner, 79 years old, a resident of Groveland for nearly 60 years, died at his home in that township, Friday evening, June 26, at 8 o'clock, following an illness of about ten days as the result of a stroke some time ago.
Mr. Hosner was born in West Bloomfield, Oakland county, March 2, 1852. When he was 20 years of age he came to Groveland and three years later, on Mar 2 1875, he was united in marriage to Frances E. Narrin, daughter of pioneer parents of Groveland. Mr. and Mrs. Hosner began married life on the farm that was their home for 55 years. The house was destroyed by fire last fall and since then they have been living at the first place east of their old home.
Surviving are the widow; one daughter, Mrs. John O. McGinnis, of Groveland, and two sons, Frank, of Flint, and Guy, of Holly. Another daughter, Bernice, died in 1914 at the age of 15 years.
The funeral was held at the home on Sunday at 2.p.m. Rev. F.A. Burnett officiated and burial was in the Hadley cemetery in Groveland.
