Nana, 77, of Joplin, died Monday at St. John's Medical Center, Joplin, Mo. Nana was born May 2, 1928, in Wanda, Mo., to Lee Carl and Leeoma Eaton Newton. She was a graduate of Granby High School. She had her private pilot's license and was a representative for Mary Kay for 23 years. She was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church. She married Boyd J. "Mickey" Charles on Sept. 9, 1949, in Joplin. He died May 9, 2000. She is survived by three sons, Terry Charles of Joplin, Dan Charles and Shawn Charles of Huntsville; a sister, Dorothy Campbell of Tulsa, Okla.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
