William Joseph was the 3rd child born to James and Eliza Deering. William Joseph married Jennie B. McGaw (Jane B.) on 21 April 1866 in Detroit, Michigan. William was a 'Notions Salesman'. In 1900 the family moved to Chicago, Illinois, then in 1910 they were living in Red Bluff, California. Jennie and William were living in San Francisco in 1917 when Jennie died. The 1920 Census has William still living in San Francisco, along with his brother Edward and wife Frances (Margaret Frances Bole-Deering).
