Lewis Arthur is proven to be the son of Joel Arthur by the pension application of his son Lewis Jr. in which the Lewis and Malinda applied for a parent's pension and Azariah Arthur gives affidavit that he is brother of Lewis Sr father of Lewis Jr. and was at the wedding of Lewis Arthur to Malinda Flemming. Because the will of Joel Arthur was stolen from the courthouse Joel's children had to be determined from other records. Lewis lived on the land next to Joel too.
