John Stahlman, Jr. does NOT have a middle name initial of S. in any known document. A family tree perpetuating the initial S. has this John Jr. confused with his nephew-
John S. Stahlman of Frogtown, Limestone township, Clarion co. PA. Many legal actions involving estates, deeds and land in Limestone township executed by John S. Stahlman, the son of Samuel Stahlman 1803-1848 and wife Margaret Reed Stahlman. Samuel Stahlman 1803-18848 of Limestone twp. was a brother to John Stahlman, Jr.

John Stahlman born family farm near Hegins,Schuylkill Co. PA. to John and Eleanor McCrorey Stahlman. In 1787 this land was in Berks co. PA. The county lines later established the farm was Lower Mahantango township, Schuylkill county in 1811, Final division of Lower Mahantang0 township is Hegins township. The farm is very close to the north Berks county line.

John Stahlman Jr. married ca. 1819 Catharine Paul of Lower Mahantango township.
