Mrs. Margaret (BLAND) (CARPENTER) SULLIVAN, daughter of James and Lydia BLAND and widow of Jonathan SULLIVAN, was born September 10, 1840, and departed this life November 21, 1926, at the age of 86 years, at the home of her son, David SULLIVAN, of Lyons. She was in failing health for sometime and was confined to her bed for two months. Mrs. SULLIVAN spent most of her life near Bloomfield, but recently moved to Lyons. She was a member of the Church of God at Sharkey. She was united in marriage to Mahlon CARPENTER, to which union were born five children of whom three survive, namely, George CARPENTER, of Bloomfield; Mrs. Frank ANDERSON, of Unionville; and Sarah BURCH, of Solsberry. Mr. CARPENTER having passed away, she was again united in marriage to Jonathon SULLIVAN, of Bloomfield. To this union were born four children, all of whom survive, namely, Mrs. Charles TURNER, of Bloomington; Mrs. Walter GROW, of Lyons; David and Frank SULLIVAN, also of Lyons. She also leaves to mourn her departure two brothers Roland and Allan BLAND, of Newark and thirty-seven grandchildren. We mourn not as those who have no hope as the deceased expressed to her children that she was ready to go, whenever the Lord would call for her.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday Nov. 23, by Rev. Charles SIMS, at the Church of God at Old Tulip. The remains were laid to rest in the Tulip Cemetery.
