Mrs. Florence I. Blake, 79, of 918 St. Louis Rd., Collinsville, died Sunday at 10 p.m. at her home.
Born March 1, 1881 in Collinsville, she was the daughter of the late James and Adelaide Bowler Matthews. She was married to Jule C. Blake who preceded her in death in 1935.
Surviving are two sons, Rodney O. Blake, Collinsville, and Jule C. Blake, Granite City; one daughter, Mrs. Herbert (Adelaide) Cummings, Collinsville; two brothers and two sisters, Leo Matthews, William Matthews, Mrs. Ed (Mary) Mueller and Miss Amy Matthews, all of Collinsville; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Blake was superintendent of the Madison County Home and Hospital in Edwardsville, now known as the County Nursing Home.
The body may be viewed at the Herr funeral home in Collinsville after 7:30 p.m. Monday until the service Wednesday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Dr. William H. Sill will officiate.
Interment will be in Valley View cemetery.
