Born Elmer Kikume Gozier most likely in the Hawaiian Islands (although the possibility of Kansas has also been considered), Mr. Kikume began his film career in the early 1930s as both stuntman and actor. With his exotic good looks and handsome bearing, Mr. Kikume was often cast as native island chieftains or other authority figures. He appeared in nearly 70 films including serials, jungle movies and most notably as Mandrake the Magician's assistant, Lothar in 1939's 12 part serial of the same title. Mr. Kikume was the father of actor Bernard aka Bernie Gozier (1917-1979). Al Kikume passed away at the age of 77 from a reoccurring heart ailment.
