Dunn Daily Record 2 Feb 2010: Elizabeth Haislip Denning, of Benson was born in Hamilton. She was known as "Lib" by her family and friends. During the last eight years of her life, she dealt with various debilitating effects of a massive stroke. After graduating from high school in Martin County, Mrs. Denning attended Saint Mary's in Raleigh, Flora McDonald College and East Carolina Teachers' College. She taught third and fourth grades in Johnston and Sampson counties. She was a longtime member of Benson United Methodist Church and served in numerous capacities.
