Beulah Carroll Murphy, 75, of the Murphytown Community went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 14, 2007 at Brookside Rehabilitation and Care. A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Will and Irene Ward Carroll. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Stanley Murphy. Beulah was an active member of Locust Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Hobert Murphy, a daughter: Kathy Johnson and husband, Claude, of Forest City; 3 sons: Norman Murphy and wife, Nancy, of Maiden, Wilburn Murphy and wife, Mary Lou, and Max Murphy and wife, Rachel, of Burnsville; 7 sisters: Nola Ward of Johnson City, Edith Phillips and Judy Thomas of Burnsville, Joyce Byrd of Hickory, Thelma Owens of Vale, Geraldine Cole of Connelly Springs, and Rosemary Davis of Winston-Salem; 3 brothers: Wesley Carroll of Marion, Rev. Claude Carroll of Burnsville and Rev. Homer Carroll of Weaverville; 3 granddaughters: Melissa Bryant, Hannah Johnson and Samantha Murphy; 4 grandsons: Audy, Randall, Matthew and Shane Murphy and 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 7:30 P. M. Wednesday in the chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home. Revs. Joe Brown, Donnie Bryant and Kelly Bryant will officiate. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P. M. Thursday in White Oak Flats Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 P. M. Wednesday prior to the service.
