Clarence Robertson was born on December 16, 1899, in Coal City, Alabama to William Abner Robertson and his wife Martha Alice Alverson Robertson. He had four brothers and two sisters. His parents died when he was a boy and he was placed in an orphanage until he and his sister Vida and brother William Lacy Robertson were all adopted by Mr and Mrs Tommy Weaver of Columbiana, Shelby County, Alabama. He then went by the name of Clarence Robertson Weaver. He died June 27, 1925, in Asheville, North Carolina, at the age of 25 of tuberculosis, and was buried in Wattsville, Alabama. He was living in Johnson City, Tennessee at the time and employed as a banker.
