Mr. J. Badley received a telegram on Tuesday informing him that his son, Private James Badley, was dangerously ill in hospital at Rouen. He has previously been wounded in action. Mr. Badley left for France to see his son on Wednesday.

The funeral of Private J. Badley, Lincoln Regiment, took place at Weymouth (with full military honours), on July 5th. He was an old Kirton Grammar School boy, and joined the Durham Light Infantry in March 1915. He was wounded in September 1916, and was transferred to his county regiment in March 1917. A memorial service was held at the Parish Church on Tuesday.

Private James Badley, of the Lincolnshire Regiment, died in Weymouth Military Hospital, of spotted fever, on July 4th 1917, and buried in Weymouth Cemetery, on July 5th, the dearly beloved and eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Badley, Kirton House, Mablethorpe, aged 22 years. At Rest. Mr, and Mrs. Badley and family wish to thank all friends for kindness and sympathy in their sad bereavement.
