Obit: Syracuse Newspaper - August 23, 1967 - Groton - Mrs. Florence Metcalf Adams Dison, 72, of 103 W. South St., Groton, died Monday night at Cortland Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday from the Bush Funeral Home, Cortland. Congregational Servant John Booth of South Lansing officiating. Burial will be in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden. Calling hours will be Wednesday at the convenience of friends at the home in Groton. She is survived by her husband, George Dison; five sons, Herbert Adams of Groton, RD 1, Horace Adams of Trumansburg, Henry Adams of McGraw RD 1, Harmon Adams, with the U.S. Army in Germany, Harry Adams of Freeville, RD 1; a daughter, Mrs. Leonard Beckwith; a sister, Mrs. Pauline Winchell of Groton, RD 2, 27 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Born in Cortland, she lived in Groton most of her life and was employed by Crescent Corset Co., Cortland. She was a member of the Jehovah Witnesses, the Marathon Legion Auxiliary, and its gold star mothers.
