Pfc. Javery E. Smith
Committal services for Pfc. Javery E. Smith, U.S. Marine Corps, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Smith of Latham, N.Y., and grandson of Mrs. Mary Jackson of Gage street, were held at Park Lawn Cemetery this morning. The Marine lost his life in the Korean conflict Dec 1, 1950.
The Rev. Francis Holland of Sacred Heart Church offered prayers.
M-Sgt. Theodore R. Monge, U.S. Marine Corps, escort in the transfer to Bennington, was in charge of the military representation and presented the flag to the mother of Pfc. Smith.
Color bearers and guards were; William Smith, Wilfred Bisson, Edward Boutin, Charles Holden, Veterans of Foreign Wars; Fred Sheldon, Charles Hunt and W. Bernard Flynn, American Legion.
