Melvin Bly, 74, of 810 E. Oklahoma died Wednesday in Brownsville, Tex. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home with the Rev. F. Hauser Winter officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery.
Mr. Bly was born Oct. 13, 1903, in Loup City to Loyd and Mattie Lewis Bly. He was reared and educated in Loup City. He married Nita Dold on June 18, 1928, in St. Paul. The couple farmed in the Loup City and Ashton areas before coming to Grand Island in 1948. She died in 1961.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Leona Belles of Orangeville, Pa., and Mrs. Alice Vickers of Council Bluffs, Iowa; a brother, Harry of Council Bluffs, and a sister, Mrs. Ethel Kaslon of Loup City
