Private James Betts of 120 Whitehall Road was killed in
action on October 7, 1916. He is single and 29 years of age and enlisted in
February of 1916. Previous to that time he was working as a saddler for Messrs.
Benton of Forster Street. Private Betts who had been in France for months with
the London Regiment, received his education at the Hillary Street council
Schools.
