J.T. Mathias, age 93, of Portland, passed away February 9, 2008. He was born in Sumner County on November 14, 1914, to the late Carl and Lillie Mathias. He is survived by his wife, Della Lamb Mathias of Portland; son, Gary (Goldie) Mathias of White House; daughter, Linda Daniel of Arcadia, Fla.; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Viola Hinton of Portland, Mary Hirlston of Murfreesboro; brother, Riley Mathias of Poplar Bluff, Mo. Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Monday, February 11, 2008, at Union Chapel Church with Bro. Andy Mathias officiating. Interment will be at Restlawn Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Scott Farmer, Les Farmer, Max Farmer, Mark Johnson, Corey Johnson, Pat Harrell, Jonathan King, David Harrett and Joseph Daniel
