Cedar Crossing Community, Mr. Pat Barnes, age 64, of the Cedar Crossing Community, died Monday, January 20, 2014 in the Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin after a brief illness. He was a native Cedar Crossing and lived in Toombs and Montgomery Counties all of his life. In 1969, he started at Edwin I. Hatch Plant during the initial site preparation and plant construction. Most of his employment at Plant Hatch was as carpenter general foreman, and was there until 1994. Since 1994, he was the sales manager for Onion City Farm Supply in Lyons and proudly, was a lifelong farmer. He was a charter member of the Toombs County Emergency Management Agency and was a member and Past Master of Millikens Creek Masonic Lodge # 302 in Cedar Crossing. He was a member of the Cedar Crossing Baptist Church and served in the Army National Guard. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Pauline Barnes; and his step-mother, Mary Mac Barnes.

Mr. Barnes is survived by his wife, Wanda White Barnes; one son, Heath Barnes and wife Tanya; one daughter, Amy Barnes Morris and husband John, all of Cedar Crossing; three brothers, Jim Paul Barnes and wife Carolyn of Uvalda, Randall Barnes and wife Brenda, and Mike Barnes of Uvalda; four grandchildren, Lane and Lindy Morris, and Hunter and Bryson Davis; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, January 23rd at 11:00 am in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Reece Mincey and Heath Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedar Crossing Cemetery with Masonic Rites.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 until 8:00.
